Gesthera, a women’s health biopharmaceutical company developing innovative therapies for maternal health, today announced that it has been selected as a finalist in the Medical & Therapeutics category of the Women’s Health Week Europe 2026 Pitch Competition.
Women’s Health Week Europe will take place on 7–8 October 2026 at Emirates Stadium in London, bringing together more than 700 senior decision-makers from across the women’s health ecosystem, including investors, founders, healthcare providers, multinational companies, policymakers and industry leaders.
Gesthera is one of eight finalists selected in the Medical & Therapeutics category, which showcases companies developing regulated, clinical and science-led solutions addressing women’s health needs.
Advancing a new approach to preterm labor
Gesthera will use the opportunity to present GST001, its lead clinical-stage programme being developed to treat spontaneous preterm labor and prolong pregnancy, with an initial focus on earlier gestational ages where the unmet need is particularly high.
GST001 is an orally available small molecule that selectively blocks the prostaglandin F2α receptor (FP receptor), offering a differentiated approach to tocolysis by targeting pro-labor signaling beyond uterine contractions.
The programme has achieved clinical proof of concept in a Phase 2a study, with the strongest efficacy signal observed at earlier gestational ages and a favorable safety profile. Gesthera is now preparing for a Phase 2 monotherapy study in women below 32 weeks of gestational age, with a targeted readout in 2028.
“We are delighted to have been selected as a finalist at Women’s Health Week Europe,” said Fabien de Ladonchamps, Gesthera. “This recognition is an important opportunity to bring the Gesthera story and GST001 to a highly relevant audience of healthcare professionals, investors and industry leaders. We look forward to sharing our vision for a new generation of tocolysis and, importantly, to meeting with potential partners, investors and collaborators during the conference.”
Gesthera will be attending Women’s Health Week Europe throughout 7–8 October at Emirates Stadium and welcomes the opportunity to connect with investors, pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, healthcare professionals, potential partners and other stakeholders interested in advancing innovation in maternal and women’s health.
“At Gesthera, our ambition is simple: to be better at 48 hours – and ultimately to go beyond 48 hours,” added Mr. de Ladonchamps. “We look forward to continuing the conversation in London.”
